Hello! My name is Sviatoslav Pashchuk and this is my new classic poker size deck dedicated to the Mexico’s heroic struggle for independence.

The idea of creating the deck bearing the spirit of a freedom loving country has come to my mind long ago. It has combined not only the modern attributes of Mexico, but also its old history and traditions of the Incas and the Maya. The nation of any country is formed and is strengthened in the course of the struggle for its independence, this is why I decided to choose revolution as the main theme and added exotic elements and traditions of the old culture, in which today’s Mexico has grown.

My desire was to make this deck more graphic, similar to the old money used in Mexico in the 17th century. From there I have “borrowed” the font and decorative elements, and added ancient patterns of the Incas and the Maya. Face cards have large number of symbols. Each suit has unique armament of that time, the ancient Incas symbol, which symbolizes the suit, Mexico most recognizable plant, an integral part of the national cuisine. The center of each card contains Maya golden calendar and decorative plate with an eagle holding a snake in the beak (the same eagle is depicted on the coat of arms of Mexico), surrounded with 31 stars, symbolizing the states of Mexico. I’ve been working on this deck for more than 7 months, and each element is well-balanced and worked out. All the drawings were originally sketched on paper, as this is my favorite way to draw, and then scanned and transformed into digital format.

The symmetry and balance of the Mandala symbolizes unity and harmony. A rich history and heritage has inspired the latest addition to the LUXX range. Designed in the UK by Alvin Cheung of Sishou, and expertly printed by Legends in Taiwan. Mandala is a full custom deck with gorgeous artwork, a full bleed back design and four elaborate aces. Housed in a premium pearlescent tuck box with bronze foiled logo and wrap-around artwork, the first edition decks will be accompanied by a numbered seal which will be present on the initial print run only. Mandala is printed on premium card stock with our favorite Legends finish, 'Elite'.

Good day! I am Paul, the artist behind the Water Margin playing cards. I've looked through quite a few Asian or Chinese-themed playing cards and don't feel like I've found any with themes that are top-notch. This inspired me to work on this project - I am a Chinese history buff and I admire the classic Japanese art genre of Ukiyo-e, so I thought it is perfect to work on a follow-up to my previous successful project "Battle of Muscles".

I chose one of the four great Chinese classical novels, "Water Margin", also known as "Outlaws of the Marsh", as the main theme. You may have seen it as "Suikoden" in Japanese. The novel is about a band of outlaws rebelling against the corrupted government during the Song Dynasty.

Out of the 108 heroes in the novel, I chose 14 that readers are most familiar with due to their amazing stories. I borrowed some influence from Ukiyo-e where the Water Margin theme was popular. Not to mention early Chinese playing cards actually used the theme (see above image). I also incorporated a little taste of my sense of humor into the project as well. I hope to embellish the deck of playing cards with a little more "Chinese-ness".

The Limited Edition deck comes in a matchbox style box with a plain white tuckbox inside it. The card with the matches on it is meant to be placed so it will be visible when you slide open the matchbox. The box even has a rough 'striker' area on the side just like an actual matchbox.

This deck is the last one of Odissea series and talk about the last travel and the death of Ulysses.

“Nec Plus Ultra” was written on the Pillars of Hercules, the limit of the known World. It means “No more further” in latin, and pass them was forbidden to all mortals. Ulysses was crazy enough to challenge Gods, and he was so hungry of knowledge to cross them. The story of Ulysses crossing the Pillars is found in the Divina Commedia by Dante Alighieri. In this version of the story, Ulysses dies here, by a huge storm sent by the angry Gods he decided to defy. The Goddess on the tuckbox that represent the Unknown and the Fate. If you followed my other projects, you know I’m in love with the reckless heroes, hungry of knowledge, who does not stay in their place and dare to challenge overwhelming powers.
