The cards have custom pips, Spades being crossed swords; Hearts being a flower with a stem and stamen; Clubs being a triangle with a cross beneath; and diamonds being a diamond with a cross beneath. Spades and Clubs are black, and Hearts and Diamonds are red. There is a picture of a lion in the top right and bottom left of each card. Each card except the court cards has a mono-chrome drawing of something from the books, These are all different. The court cards are the same for all four suits with a line drawing of a king, queen, and jack. The backs are borderless, with the Gryffindor crest, part of which is seen on the front of the tuck box. There are two different jokers, one with a dark mark, and one with the deathly hallows. The finish is plastic, and linen, and makes a sound when the cards move across each other.
