In the course of packing, we had come across a few Aurum decks that were not packaged at the factory as we had designed. On the standard Aurum deck, the gold metallic ad card is the last card in the deck and is what you can see through the custom diecut in the box. 

We've found a few decks (3), however, that are factory sealed and have the Aurum back design or the "blank face" card showing through the diecut window. 2 decks had the joker and 1 deck had the card back design. 

These are a rare collectible item.

Dante Alighieri, an Italian poet and philosoper had an eerie vision about the afterlife more than seven centuries ago. His vision has been included into one of the masterpieces of the Italian culture: the Divine Comedy (La Divina Commedia).

• the deck (52+2 cards) wrapped in paper and sealed with wax (the sealing has been purposely done so that it’s not needed to break the seal in order to open the deck). The paper has a stamp on it saying “imprimatur expectant” (waiting for the permission to print). This is our interpretation of the mood of the deck: an unfinished work (you can see it on the faces, obviously) expecting a formal ok from the Catholic Church (in the past it was not possible to have a book printed without the Vatican’s approval, after that you would have granted the “imprimatur” that means “let’s print”);
• a cardboard box with a false bottom, designed to hold 2 decks (more on this later);
• a cardboard double message (“invenit qui quaerit”: a latin motto meaning “seek and ye shall find” and “dear friend please complete my artwork”: a direct message for you – more on this later);
• a “blank” card – the one the author wants you to complete, useful for card tricks or for entering the contest (more on this later);
• a little piece of charcoal wrapped in a shred of tissue paper, to enforce the mood of an unfinished work that needs to be completed.

The Split Spade represents David Blaine’s logo and is featured in a brilliant back design created by M. Stutzman. The cards feature unique design details throughout including the DB Split Spade Logo on the ace of spades, a caricature of David on the face of the King of Spades, the now famous “liar” optical illusion, etc. The cards are printed for David by the United States Playing Card Company to his very strict standards in high quality Tally-Ho card stock with Linoid finish. The cards handle beautifully and are used by David in his daily performances. These are the original David Blaine playing cards, first commissioned by David Blaine and released to the market in 2005. The cards have Tally Ho’s classic linoid finish and are used by David Blaine and other sleight of hand artists. The back design was created by illustrator M. Stutzman and features subtle two-way images. Look carefully and you can see the Angel putting the serpent to the sword and a tiger in the shadow of the flames. Some of the court cards feature special faces; The King of Spades is David Blaine, the Queen of Hearts is his mother, and the Queen of Spades is Lonneke Engel (a close friend). A lot of people were not able to get a Zenith deck when we originally released this extremely limited deck. Only 1000 decks were printed and less than 30 are not currently in circulation. We decided to pull a few of our private reserve, unnumbered decks out and make them available for a limited time.

If you are lucky enough to find a Zenith deck on eBay you can expect to pay well over $100 per deck and none of those will be these rare unnumbered decks. Each deck will also be signed on the cellophane by Paul Carpenter.

We only can spare 10 of these and that's all we are going to make available, the last few simply have to remain in our private stock.
