students of Estonian Art Academy which is located in Tallinn -capital of Estonia. In 2015 we had a lot of projects connected with forests, so from that moment was born an idea called Arbores Playing Cards.

Arbores is a Latin word that means "Tree". There was no difficulty to find the name for the deck, but since it was our first playing card project, at the beginning of the draft, we hadn't good ideas for it. 

Our friends Edwin Krys and Ailjay Boitchuk have an experience in this field so, they helped us with making photos and some PS and Ai work.

Now, after 8 months of hard work, we want to represent to you our finished project, which is designed for the playing card lovers, nature lovers and too ltd. playing cards collectors.

THE DECK

The dark green background brings out the silver ornaments on the tuck case. Only some parts of ornaments will be foiled, including text such as "Arbores", Tuck sides, bottom and also some elements like birds. The fine detail of each hand drawn card is reminiscent of a hard working. Arbores will have a print run of 150 or more. Each deck will be numbered and this deck will never be re-printed.

Greille is the fourth design in our premium playing card range, and the second deck created by Rick Davidson. Showcasing a unique grid pattern throughout the deck, Greille is a gorgeous blend of modern design and traditional playing card elements. The repeating pattern showcases the shimmering embedded hot-stamped foil on the backs, makes this a unique and stunning addition to any collection - a process which is challenging and requires expertise from start to finish. With four custom aces, two gorgeous jokers and court cards which whilst being fully custom, stay true to the traditional style. Each deck is housed in a superb tuck with foil and embossing, LUXX® branding and limited edition numbered first edition seals.

Heretic Playing Cards by Lorenzo Gaggiotti (Stockholm17) is based on alchemy and the hermetic world. Salt (for the Jacks), Sulfur (for the Queens) and Mercury (for the Kings) are the three basic ingredients of the alchemist. This PCDB entry is for the basic Noctis version of the deck, there also was a Lux version and uncuts of each. The cards are smooth cut, fully customized with deep detail. Each fresh look uncovers a new secret. Aurelians are so intricate that we had to employ specialists to experiment with different weights of foil and ink to create this modern artifact. Own a piece of playing card history today. 270 AD: the Price of Loyalty Aurelian's first bold move into power was to take control over the imperial mint. Forging gold coins to donate to his troops, guaranteeing their loyalty. We've captured that narrative with a strong border topped with his signature coin, drawing inwards to a medallion-inspired centre piece that looks hypnotic in your hands. 271 AD: Rags to Riches Emperor Aurelian, born to humble beginnings, understood the people's wants. Upon rising to power he cancelled the people's private debts to the treasury. Each courtier card has been draped in gold and fully re-worked to stand proudly with the powerful design. The faces have also been completely re-sculpted to create a timeless pip arrangement, whilst still remaining recognizable for magic. 272 AD: Paid in Blood Exquisite detail meets historical significance. Aurelian's custom ace is a symbol for the "Soldier-Emperor". His reign, though short, was marked by bloody and glorious conquest. Gold ink swords, whips and throwing spears drape themselves over the stunning spade. It's the most important card in a deck and it's the only one with golden pips. 273 AD: Power and Glory Aurelian was a celebrated military leader, enjoying amongst his titles the moniker "Restitutor Orbis; Restorer of the World, claiming back much of the previously lost Roman Empire. The Jokers are a homage to the Tally-Ho cowboys we've all come to love. These soldiers stand resolute ready to defend an empire...Or to overthrow one.
