A time before the United States existed, a time when we were subjects of a King across an ocean. The Sons of Liberty operated in the shadows, leaving secret signals, passing hidden messages, and meeting in the dead of night. However, people soon rallied with them, and their cause to resist British oppression quickly spread throughout the colonies.

 

These playing cards embody the spirit of freedom that the Sons of Liberty fought for, featuring Freemason symbols, the Liberty Tree, and many other secret images. A few of the many heroes of the War are represented on the court cards, giving you a chance to become acquainted with some of the brave men and women who risked their lives for our freedom.

This custom deck of playing cards features Mythical Creatures from Greek, Norse, Egyptian and East Asian traditions. Each suit represents a different pantheon and includes symbols any iconic elements from each. This custom deck of playing cards was illustrated by Gustavo Borboa and printed in the USA by the United States Playing Card Company (USPCC) under the Bicycle® brand with a Linen Air Cushion Finish. A deck of playing cards inspired by the Native American's.

Gaming has been apart of the Native American culture since the beginning of its time. The Chumash people often played two styles of games, one involving chance, and the other skill. The ancestors of the Chumash often would even place bets on the outcomes of these games as well.

Each village had a special area in which these games were played, they called it Malamtepupi. With this in mind we have shortened the name to Malam, and merged it with one of the most notorious items used in the current age of gaming and created Malam Playing Cards.

Designed by Jared Hansen, the Steeplechase Park deck is a tribute to Coney Island's original and longest-running amusement park. The back design is wildly colorful and vibrant - a perfect deck for summer. With single colors and no shading, they will not detract from your gaming. There are many subtle patterns in the deck (clothing, symbols, weapons, etc.). Each card shares similarities with its counterpart suits and ranks, yet each face card has small variations from one side to the other (as you can see in the pictures below). Each suit has its own personality. I wanted to draw the player in to establish a personal connection with each suit and card, which is something I've felt was missing from classic playing cards. I used a wide variety of animals that I felt matched each suit's personality, and each card feels like a character in a story. From the makers of the Unrest Series of playing cards comes a new exciting series based on life and death. This series focuses on several historical events where life and death was a major factor. In this case, we honor the historic ship known simply as RMS Titanic.

Funded as a Kickstarter project on October 29, 2014  with $37,460 pledged from 582 backers, this was available in a Life and Death tuck options (each with custom stickers for First, Second and Third Class, plus crew) and unbranded version based on the Death tuck and a Deluxe edition tuck.  Using the theme of the titanic each deck the Life/Death tucks used a unique and custom variable seal that included the name, age, gender and serial number (ticket number) for each person on board, with their survival or death indicated by the tuck used (Life or Death).  An accompanying 'boarding pass' in the form of a custom card with more details of the person were also available for each person.  The decks were created and designed by Robert Tomlinson of Tomlinson Playing Cards and were printed by Expert Playing Card Company.
