With help from collector and playing card lover Ken Lodge, we tracked down the original artwork. Our artists re-worked the back design and converted all the files so they were print-ready, as well as adding special touches like new pips and a custom Ace and Joker illustrated by Stuart Palm. We printed Serpentine at a new factory, on traditionally cut European card stock, with precise printing registration. Though the cards don\'t have the exact same buttery smooth edges as some of our previous decks, the cards faro extremely well, and our new Emerald Finish has a great snap and feel in-between our stiffer Diamond Finish and softer Classic Finish. Harold's Club, also spelled Harolds Club, was a casino in Downtown Reno, Nevada that was established in 1935. The casino closed in 1995 and the building was demolished in 1999. Harold's Club casino was established in 1935 by Harold S. Smith Sr. (1910-1985) and his brother, Raymond A. Smith. Soon afterwards, their father, Raymond I. ("Pappy") Smith (1887-1967), was appointed general manager and became the public face of the casino.[1] The casino expanded by buying adjacent Virginia Street properties. Harold's Club constructed a seven-story building as part of the casino, but never had a hotel on the property. Pappy Smith developed a marketing campaign that made the casino famous, using more than two thousand billboards across the United States advertising "Harold's Club or Bust", often written on a Conestoga wagon.[2][3](By the 1970s, most of the billboards had been taken down because of the Highway Beautification Act.[4]) Harold's Club was sold to Howard Hughes' Summa Corporation in 1970 for $11.5 million. In December 1994, the casino was sold to Gamma International Ltd. and closed three months later. The casino was then sold to Harrah's Reno in 1999 and demolished. The property is now an outdoor plaza for concerts and special events. The casino building had an American Bandstand restaurant and nightclub for 8 years during the 1990s.[5] Harold's Club was the target of a casino heist in the 1955 feature film 5 Against the House. A large 70 by 35 foot mural of Old West pioneer settlers that was displayed in front of the casino is now on display at the Reno Livestock Events Center, about 2 miles from the old casino location. The mural was designed by Theodore McFallon and constructed by Sargent Claude Johnson.

Carpathia participated on the rescue of the Titanic, saving several hundreds of survivors. This story has inspired Charles Lee to create his first playing cards artwork: Carpathia deck. Only 144 of a fully customized Black Carpathia (Carpatbia) deck were printed by USPCC. The printing of Carpatbia Deck adopts two layers of paper, which is quite similar to Absolute Vodka Deck.

The distinguishing feature of the English standard playing card is that the Jacks are lansquenets – mighty warriors or foot soldiers. With such a rich and illustrious subject matter, nothing needed to be added that wasn’t already there. All that was needed was to give each of the characters dimension and expression. Nothing was done to disturb the basic foundation of the deck. Rather, conscious decisions were made to preserve and extend the tradition. Each and every card in the WhiteKnuckle Deck is a unique hand rendering in keeping with the style. Where ambiguity gave way to artistic license, reference was made to its ancestor, the French Rouen design.
