The Inspiration for this project has been an interesting one. So many of my decks in the past have centered around a theme or a specific moment in History. Because of this, I have always had historical characters to feature in my decks depending on the theme. For this project, the beginnings were a little bit different. Many times between projects I will spend a few days just gathering reference and pouring over tons of beautiful images of art and other things that I might find inspiration from. As I was searching for a creative direction for a new project, a song began to play on my playlist that really caught my attention. My wife sometimes calls me a nerd in my choice of music. I enjoy listening to all types of music but when I am working I seem to find the most focus listening to instrumental music from cinema, games, and other types of media. This song captivated me, and it was the catalyst for the entire project. I put it on repeat and listened to it to all day while creating a completely new set of court cards from the images of, what I would describe as a mixture of Sci-Fi and Fantasy. The designs that transpired over the course of the day were promising to me, and most of very different from any of my previous work. The title of the deck was actually derived from the title of the song that sparked it, Invocation. Nautical is one of them, and the perfect opportunity arose when we began collaborating with Gustavo Magalhães. As a passionate artist hailing from Brazil, Gus was keen to bring the concept to life and carry the symbolism, characters and vibe over to Seafarers.

We wanted to create a classic deck of cards reminiscent of vintage United States Playing Card Co. designs. We intentionally went this route because of how classic designs survive the test of time. Gus was instrumental in striking the balance between classic design and our signature vibe.

Innocence Playing Cards is the third USPCC deck release from the lead graphic designer of the Orbit Deck, Daniel Schneider. Extremely detailed dot drawings, in combination with familiar looking face cards, astonish without giving you the feel of an overloaded deck of cards. A very close friend of Daniel drew the woman you see on the back design more as a sketch. She showed it to him and he loved it. A picture is worth a thousand words and this is the best example of it. Daniel couldn't resist. He had to design a deck around it. Even though the face cards of this deck look like standard USPCC courts, the pips are slightly different. The court cards have reduced colors in black, grey, and red to match to the rest of the design. One of the two Jokers reveals an Ace of Hearts. Perfect for your magic routine. Also included is an 8 of Spades duplicate with a gold metallic inked back.

"Tuxedo" is a fun and stylish deck of playing cards inspired by one of my backers and friends - Pablo Apablaza from New Jersey. One day he told me that it would be awesome to design a classic deck with the face cards wearing Tuxes.

So, I decided to combine Pablo's idea with my fun style and art direction!

Little Deck Of Horrors is a celebration of the nostalgically scary “Ghost Train” with faces haunted by ghouls, goblins and ghosts. For those brave enough to “admit one”, Horrors becomes a whimsical ride through time, visiting the evil characters of our childhood.

The deck captures the glow of neon fairground lights, as they dart sharply across the back design, completed with a kaleidoscope of skulls. The cards themselves have been carefully tested for optimum durability and are printed on Cartamundi’s now famous B9 finish and stock. Some myths ARE real, so if you’ve never tried it, you’re missing out.

If you can ever put the deck down, it goes kicking and screaming into a side-loading tuck case. Trapped momentarily in a smooth gloss coffin until its next outing.

The Fig. 25 BookDeck is a deck of cards, meticulously designed around the most famous card book in History, The Expert at the Card table. The high quality and elegant deck comes in a unique, hand assembled card box, a replica to the classic book by S.W. Erdnase. The Standard version has a Linen Card Stock Book Cover with gold foil stamped cover title and spine. To continue the tribute to Erdnase, the cards appear to have been printed on sections of the pages from the original book, The Expert at the Card Table. The images have been balanced out and adjusted to give it a vintage tone, as well as keeping the card easy to read.
