Weathered Look - Not just satisfied with adding a filter to existing cards, I went all out! Cracks, tears, faded colors, and stains make it look like you found this deck buried in a mineshaft.

Welcome back guys! Chris here. Welcome to the seventh edition. Orbits are going 80's. For this edition, the crew and I sat down and reviewed a lot of 80's art to come to this final design. We missed clean borders and wanted something more minimal than the V6 but still with the element of intricacy within some part of it. The V7 features a pink dominant center along with the mountain range from the V5 Orbits that are now inverted, so they are a window to what's behind the card rather than the original mountains. Upon close inspection, constellations can be seen in the star belt.The rainbow at the bottom of the box inside the Orbit logo is a direct tribute to the lives lost in the 1986 space shuttle Challenger on their mission STS-51-L. The last names of the crew can be found on the inside of the V7 tuck because those who gave their lives for space exploration should never be forgotten. NASA halted missions for 2 years after the tragedy but when they came back, the mission patches had a rainbow in the center to signify life along with 7 orange stars to remember the 7 lives lost. Gregory Jarvis, Christa McAuliffe, Ronald McNair, Ellison Onizuka, Judith Resnik, Michael Smith, and Dick Scobee. The rainbow was saying that NASA is back and alive but will carry the life of their fallen astronauts. It is a beautiful tribute to the lives lost in 1986. We're doing our part to ensure their legacy lives on. Pips and indices. I knew I wanted a retro design that people would have been using in the 80's. I asked USPC if they had the retro Arrco pip package. Their archives didn't go back that far. Luckily, I have a retro Arrco deck in my private collection from the 70's that Nick Stumphauzer gave to me as a gift -- it was found in his grandparent's attic. Holly scanned over the cards, we sent them to Daniel, and he did the rest. If you look closely at the pips and indices, you'll see that they are a bit thinner than previous Orbit pip packages (that are also Arrco) and look a little wavy. This was not an accident. I wanted to capture the essence of a 70's deck that would have been used in the 80's, imperfections and all. You won't find another deck in this millennia with this retro pip package. The red has been replaced with pink on the V7's for an extra eye-catching aesthetic. New Court faces. We have added 3 new faces. The Queen of Clubs is my childhood best friend's mom, Nancy. I've known her since I was 11 and she is like a second mom to me. The King of Clubs is her husband, Matt (Big Matt). They have been there for me during some pretty important moments in my life and have guided me through some tough times. They deserve to be here in the deck. The final card is the King of Spades, none other than my mentor in magic, John Bodine. John has kept me headed in the right direction in my magic career, is a life mentor to me, and even invested in the my website to get it up on its own two feet back in 2012. Not sure I'd be where I am today without him in my corner.

The Afew "Black Magic" Deck was created together with New Era and the japanese Magician Yuta Maruyama. The 100% Custom Deck has been produced by the world famous manufacturer US Playing Cards and features the Afew Team. The Deck consists of 56 cards and can be used for magic, cardistry as well as for poker games.

When we decided to create a timeless deck that represents our brand at Penguin, we knew there were only a few must-haves. First, it had to be the EMPEROR. The most majestic of all penguins, the emperor penguin has a distinct, classic, and iconic look.

Our other must-have was a world-class artist. We sought out none other than Mark Stutzman to tackle the job. Mark has designed playing cards and posters for David Blaine, and even designed the iconic Elvis stamp for the US postal service. We couldn't be more delighted with the amazing work that Mark has done on this deck of cards.

BACK The back design is the most intricate we've ever produced. Meticulously illustrated, the design features penguins galore.

We have sliding penguins, marching penguins, and our featured performer penguin to give a nod to the deck's magical roots.

Snowflakes and detailed scrollwork complete the look. The back design is rotationally symmetrical so it can be used for magic tricks, card games, and more.

ACE The most powerful penguins for the most powerful card in the deck. Our custom Ace of Spades is simply beautiful. It features two penguins rising up from the icy waters, the tips of their beaks meeting at the apex. To say that we LOVE this design is an understatement.

JOKER Our joker is represented by the delightful rockhopper penguin. The feather crests on a rockhopper's head give it a jester-like quality that we knew would be the perfect fit for the joker. Impeccably illustrated by Mr. Stutzman, this is a joker that you won't want to leave out of the deck. Each deck has 2 identical joker cards.

TUCK BOX Beautiful cards deserve a beautiful box. The front of the box features a modified and more ornately decorated version of the performer penguin. Standing in the night sky surrounded by icy mountains, he is standing proud, declaring to the world that he is the EMPEROR.

The back of the box features the design of the card back at actual size. This is a classic touch that we know will be especially appreciated by card magicians.

The box is topped off with a foil seal that features our Emperor Spade design. The Unmarked Decks have a Silver foil seal, the Marked decks have a Gold foil seal. The Special Edition Decks (Only available in the 2-deck Collector's Set) have an individually-numbered Silver foil seal.

MATERIALS The Emperor deck has been printed to perfection by the Expert Playing Card Company on a classic stock & finish. This is the same quality we have used on our Woodlands and Composition Decks, which feel terrific and offer ultra smooth handling. Expert is known for delivering precise registration, which is a MUST for a design with borders as thin as the ones on Emperor. The silky edges are a delight to hold whether you're a faro-shuffling magician, a quick-cutting cardist, or an at-home game player.
