For three years, at Joker and the Thief, we have reviewed and handled hundreds of custom designer playing cards from around the world. We have seen absolute gems and absolute rubbish, innovation and repetition, various design trends, decks that handle spectacularly and decks that handle poorly. What we have observed is a vast plethora of combinations, leading to either quality products or poor ones. We believe that a certain balance needs to be achieved in order to create a great deck of cards. Now we are delighted to introduce to you, a collaborative project with Pedro Oyarbide, 6 months in the making - Joker and the Thief Playing Cards.

In collaboration with our artist Pedro Oyarbide, we originally sought to create a deck that was distinctly unique amongst other decks of playing cards on the market. We focused on 100% custom illustration, striking details, incredible, eye-catching packaging and deep connotation evident through symbolic design. The mythology of the Joker and the Thief playing cards expands with the addition of Street Edition. The all new bold, black and grey colour-way bursts forth bringing itself into the light of day. Building upon White Gold Edition and Blood Red Edition’s narratives; Street Edition aims to place itself directly in the hands of contemporary creatives. It looks at home in any urban setting while continuing to portray powerful contrasting themes of life and mortality, lightness and darkness, good and evil. This entry is for the first print run of v2 edition of DeckONE playing cards which can be distinguished by roman numerals "II" visible on the tuck flap. First print run of v2 edition has "II" on the tuck flap. Quote from Director of Operations at Theory11, Lyle Borders: Two versions, across three different printings. Printing #1 did not have the aged, worn look that the current edition does. People carried these decks in their pockets, and eventually they would wear down and develop a really cool aged look. V2 emulated that look. V2 had 2 printings. The III indicates the 3rd printing, which is a V2 printing. II and III are essentially identical other than that small change which indicates the printing.
