Limited Edition of Dealers Series. Borderless From Daniel Madison's personal supply, Scarlet Dealers were produced in a limited print run of just 2500 decks. Held to the exact same demanding printing requirements as those used on Erdnase Green Dealers, Scarlets were printed for Daniel Madison's use only. On initial launch of Madison Dealers, just 405 Scarlet Decks were released as gifts to a few lucky customers who purchased 12 or more of the Erdnase Green decks. Daniel has kindly said that he may release more Scarlet decks for a special promotion, however until that day, they remain in his private collection. (Copied from ellusionist.com)

Prototype Viper deck. This deck differentiates from the final production deck in that it has no "VIPER" logo or wordmark in the TALLY-HO block on it and is produced with a fan back rather than the circle back. Tuck seal is upside-down.

The 1st Edition Ellusionist Tally-Ho Viper Circle back has a few key differences from the reprinted 2008 Viper deck. Most significantly is the change in tagline below the TALLY-HO brand in the title block. Originally labeled as 'Striking Playing Cards' the final production deck changed to a tagline emphasizing the qualities of the cards 'Ultimate Card Handling'. Secondary differences can be seen in the viper itself, changing from the backward 'S' shape to a more winding viper in the final production. Final differences can be seen in the bottom flap where no bar code was yet introduced or even the Ellusionist logo itself. Whiskey is as American as apple pie. The oak tree on the front of the tuck box and seal - a symbol of the aging process for fine bourbon, matured in charred oak barrels to develop the distinct smoky flavour. This oak motif continues throughout the cards, from the Ace of Spades right around to the back design.

 

While bars before prohibition were predominantly male domains, in the 1920's many women flocked to speakeasies in their best flapper attire. We've taken inspiration from images of the era to design the court cards, the art-deco was very in-vogue at the time.

When Daniel Madison designed the original black Madison Rounders, he also made 2500 decks of Scarlet Rounders that would be used in promotions and giveaways - as well as for Daniel\'s own supply. Eventually, the supply dissipated. In 2014, Daniel created and printed only 2500 decks of Private Reserve Rounders. He re-designed the box, changed the Joker to the one found in the White Rounders, added a Gaff card for one of his favorite gambling routines \'The Poker Lesson\' and changed most of the court cards. Daniel also changed the stock and finish of the deck to closer match a thicker and sturdier Bee deck of cards, the finish is unique to the Private Reserve Rounders. The Private Reserve Rounders will never be available for general sale.

When faced with the challenge of making a new Madison deck I wanted to dare to be different and do something that would take everybody by surprise. Minimalistic and monochrome are two words that have become synonymous with my image and style and I wanted to change that with the Madison Hustlers; I wanted to take a risk and create something very much on the outside of my comfort zone. I chose two colors that had never been used before on playing cards; a purple that’s approaching pink and an orange as bright as I could find - two colors perfect for summertime madness. Heavily inspired by the casinos of the 50’s and 60’s, I wanted to create something that wouldn’t look out of place in the original Ocean’s 11 film. In line with the previous Madison decks, the design revolves around the M logo, which although appears four times in the design, you never see a complete logo

Daniel Madison: The Black Dealers were a limited run created as my own private reserve, to be personally shared with my friends and used as my regular performing deck. They were produced not to be offered for sale - with the few that I left in the Ellusionist warehouse to be given away in Special Promotions and here in the Rewards Store. When initially designing the Madison Dealers, the borderless design was an imperative element for me, not for the single advantage it lends to certain gambling sleights, but also because of how beautiful the deck looks when the design bleeds the side of the entire deck. When creating a new edition of the Dealers, I didn’t just want to offer a new color, I wanted to do something different. I was very intrigued to see how the Dealers would look with a nice thin border, and when the test deck was printed, I simply had to get these out there.

Dealers Playing Cards contain a Daniel Madison marking system. With each deck, you will receive a downloadable movie teaching the system. Marked decks can cost between $20-$30, but Daniel wishes to offer his system at the price of a normal deck of cards as you can see above. Dealers in Erdnase Green use the exact pantone color of the book Expert at the Card Table by S. W. Erdnase. As used in 1902, these playing cards utilize an edge-to-edge borderless casino "gambling house" design. If you are worried about double lifts etc, perhaps it's time to stop relying on white borders to hide inefficiencies. These cards will help you to get good at what you do. Madison has used the edge-to-edge design for that single purpose since he was a teenager taking people's money in real games. We cannot emphasize enough. The cards are printed to Daniel's specifications and are the essence of a standard held long ago. They almost fan themselves.
