After two long years of meticulous design we’re pleased to unveil a project that will rival all those that came before it. MAKERS are the most intricate and luxurious deck we’ve produced to date. From the moment the cellophane comes off, to the first perfect faro, it’s evident no detail was spared. MAKERS is the meeting point between art and functionality—they are an experience to behold.

We produced MAKERS to our highest standard of production. Each tuckcase has been embossed and stamped with layers of gold-foiling. The result is nothing short of breathtaking. Out of the box, conjurors and collectors alike will enjoy 14 custom illustrated court-cards representing the foundational “makers” civilization has been built on. Sons of Liberty, The

A time before the United States existed, a time when we were subjects of a King across an ocean. The Sons of Liberty operated in the shadows, leaving secret signals, passing hidden messages, and meeting in the dead of night. However, people soon rallied with them, and their cause to resist British oppression quickly spread throughout the colonies.

 

These playing cards embody the spirit of freedom that the Sons of Liberty fought for, featuring Freemason symbols, the Liberty Tree, and many other secret images. A few of the many heroes of the War are represented on the court cards, giving you a chance to become acquainted with some of the brave men and women who risked their lives for our freedom.

Legends #098 Persian Edition

Legends Playing Card Company // 2017

Introducing the latest LEGENDS deck, our #098 Persian Edition. Continuing our theme of exploring myths and legends around the planet, the #098 edition doesn't disappoint. Featuring Persian floral and animal motifs, as well as one of the most innovative tuck boxes ever, with actual thread stitched into the box to create our LEGENDS logo. Working closely with artist Allison Lee and her inimitable carving technique, we were able to create a beautiful deck of cards created in a traditional style. The tuck box features black thread stitched to form our logo as well as the motifs on the side of the tuck box. This is a first we have ever seen on a deck of playing cards, and to our knowledge has never been done before. This is also a service we can now offer to select print customers who desire to print 1,000 decks or more with Legends. The hand-carved and printed designs for this deck were inspired by my fascination with Middle Eastern history, and incorporate motifs from the Persian Empire and remains from its ancient capital Persepolis, including the double-headed stone griffin, Ahura Mazda, the Zoroastrian God and creator of the universe, and Nowruz, the Persian New Year, represented by a lion devouring a bull to signify a changing of the seasons. The designs were carved by hand into linoleum panels, and printed with a press using oil-based ink for a water-resistant finish. It combines my love of history and printmaking.

Tenebre Acqua

Continuing from the Gothic inspired artwork of Italy comes Tenebre, Acqua & Verde Edition. Both decks will follow Rosso's lead and be printed by The Legends Playing Card Company. With less than 1,000 decks, of each edition, being available on kickstarter, Tenebre will continue to be a highly sought after deck.

"We are excited to print TENEBRE v.2, the sequel to the extremely popular TENEBRE ROSSO. We are printing on the same Diamond Finish card stock, which is extremely long lasting, stiff, and springy. Closely resembling the legendary Jerry's Nugget decks, our Diamond Finish lasts five times longer than standard brands, and our specialty cutting process yields ultra smooth edges that faro perfectly right out of the box. As with TENEBRE ROSSO, the combination of full bleed artwork yields gorgeous fans, with our paper stock resisting chipping, so you don't get those white spotted edges after handling your cards

Legends Porcelain

Legends Playing Card Company // 2017

Porcelain Chinese Zodiac Edition The Blue & White Porcelain deck was designed and illustrated by Shann Larsson as part of a project between the SCAD Collaborative Learning Center and the Legends Playing Card Company. The ‘Blue & White Porcelain’ deck features hand painted and digitally refined illustrations that are inspired by traditional Chinese blue and white ceramics. To mimic this as closely as possible, we have printed Spot UV varnish over certain parts of each card back as well as the tuck box, giving the artwork a highlight and shine that enhances the color and gives the cards that extra special, yet subtle, elegant touch. We can now offer this print service to any of our customers who want a similar feature for their artwork. Thematically, the design references the twelve animals of Chinese astrology. The zodiac animals of each face-card were individually hand painted in watercolor, with their edges digitally refined to create a clean, modern, yet subtly traditional work of art. Pattern like abstractions both construct the face-cards and serve as decorative embellishments to the tuck. The deck's geometric and organic forms also draw inspiration from modern Scandinavian porcelain. The deck is a fusion of east and west, much like the city from which the deck was born – Hong Kong. The home of Legends Playing Card Co., bring you a new standard to playing card quality and innovation. Printed in a limited print-run of around 1,000 decks, this is a truly special piece of art and design that you can hold in your hands!
