The deck introduces you into the world of spies, where they will take you along operating secret missions, unlocking secret codes, and at last, saving the world. Your mission, should you choose to accept it. There is a badge and an ID card included in the deck. Limited to 3000 decks only, you only have one shot!     Paperwave (Glyph Edition)

    Lorenzo Cobo // 2020

    The overarching idea for this deck design was to create a direct comparison between all the different permutations of glyph combinations, and the endless amount of possibilities a deck of cards offers us. This design was born from a deep interest in typography and the search for unconventional typefaces that push the boundaries of form, with the goal of creating a deck design that challenges the preconceptions of what a deck of cards can look like. The typeface used as building blocks for this deck was designed by my friend, and talented French type designer, Charles Quirouard. From there, I adjusted its curves, proportions, and specific dimension to properly fit my vision for this design. The moment I began experimenting with his typeface I realized it would look great as a back design. This quite abstract typeface has many beautiful moments that I wanted to highlight, but I couldn't include all 26 letters of the alphabet in one back without it feeling cluttered and chaotic. That's when the fitting decision of making a deck with 56 different back designs surfaced.

    Parrot (Prototype)

    A deck of 54 different and exquisite artworks of parrots by Renee Le Compte, after the style of the parrot on the front of the box. Every single card is different, and each number card has a corresponding picture of that same number of parrots. For example, each 10 has an artwork showing 10 different parrots, for a total of forty different detailed full coloured parrots on the 10s! The aces show single parrots from behind, looking back over their shoulders. The court cards are the only cards with two-way faces, showing the same beautiful parrot upside up and upside down. Jokers are different and also show parrots with a jester's hats in different positions. The backs of the cards are two-way and bordered, showing four parrots looking towards the left. The deck includes a double-backed card. The seal shows a parrot head looking towards the right.

    The cards feature a simple but satisfying design. Inspired by gemstone/crystal cuts. The deck features a beautiful palette of colours inspired by the twilight sky. The soft colours are relaxing to the eye whilst creating magnificent shapes that change depending on the display. The purples and greens were to create a bit more excitement than a simple blue design.
