In summer 2018 Oath Playing Cards did a small print run mainly to test the use of UV inks on two-color pearlescent stock. They also played around with the varnish a bit, experimenting with new materials. These sheets remained in the printer's facility and were forgotten until Lotrek decided to cut them. The coating that was almost accidentally created has a great slip, far better than any other Lotrek produced so far. It will be the base for all of their future coating formulas and is -- considered by Oath Playing Cards -- a great milestone in the pursuit of creating the perfect coating.

Fontaine cards released the Wine Edition Fontaine Playing Cards at the Guess Farmers Market on 5 May 2018. The Wine Edition Fontaines sports a deep purple colorway. From the various live video of the Guess’ special pop-event posted on Instagram, the indices, pips, and courts look pretty much standard. Also, included is an ad card with clothing brand RIPNDIP's Lord Nerma featured on both front, and the back (corners), possibly a teaser for the next Fontaine deck.

After teasing a collaboration with GUESS Jeans U.S.A. in early of April, the new Fontaine deck was released at the Guess Farmers Market on 5 May 2018. These Fontaines takes cue from Guess’ 80s and 90s archives, with an emphasis vintage Guess floral and produce graphics — a nod to California’s agricultural heritage. The deck was launched at Guess’ first-ever Farmers Market. The special pop-event is being billed as a “marketplace of fashion, street, and lifestyle brands,” including Chinatown Market, Pleasures, and Utmost.
