The discovery of gold in the Black Hills in 1874 sparked one of the greatest gold rushes of American history. The WILD WEST: The Black Hills Deck focuses on iconic characters and legends from the Black Hills and Deadwood areas. Every element in the Cards and Tuck, except for the Fonts and Tuck Interior Map, were hand-drawn in pencil by Randy Butterfield.

The WILD WEST: The Black Hills Deck is printed by Legends Playing Card Co., with their Taiwan printer, and utilizes their exceptional Classic Finish. The Tuck Box utilizes a premium Matte paper stock, 4-Color Process graphics, Gold FOIL, White PANTONE Ink, clear UV Spot Ink and Embossing. The Back-Card Design is featured on the Tuck Back, and a Native American Village pencil drawing and WILD WEST: The Black Hills Logo are prominent on the Tuck Front. The Tuck Interior includes a 4-Color Process map of the Black Hills region in the late 1800s. The Back-Card features hand-drawn decorative elements in gun metal grey with brown accents. The Court Cards include historic characters such as Wild Bill Hickok, Calamity Jane, Seth Bullock, Annie Oakley, General Custer, Sitting Bull, Buffalo Bill Cody, Crazy Horse and more. The Sepia Tone Courts contrast beautifully against the light grey background colors. Similar to the Courts, the Aces, Jokers, Backgrounds and PIPs were all hand-drawn in pencil. Pin Up style, or pictures of models or actresses whose mass-produced pictures were intended for informal display, i.e. meant to be "pinned-up" on a wall, gained its wide-range popularity during the First World War. For the soldiers they were a representation of an ideal beautiful woman and symbolized ones waiting for them at home. Why Pin Ups? As I am a big fan of Gil Elvgren, and make many illustrations in erotic style, I’ve wanted to make this artwork in a similar style to those of Elvgren’s. I did not copy him; of course, – girls on my posters are more discreet and serious, as they represent the Armed Forces. In this deck, I decided to combine Pin Up style with military style of current Ukrainian army - one of the strongest and most advanced armies of Eastern Europe. My characters are women of modern war - harsh and relentless, thus I tried to show more their force and restraint (which is inherent to the classic Pin Up style). The ink on the box is now more resistant to scratching. We'll be planting mangrove trees to offset any CO2 emitted from production and shipping of the cards.

With the Air Deck 2.0 we did not want to compromise on quality. We went to several of the world’s best manufacturers of premium casino cards and asked for the best materials they could provide. In the process of creating the ultimate travel deck, we tried out over 50 different high-end plastic materials. The materials were taken through scratch, bending and handling tests to identify the best candidate. Finally, we ended up with a premium ‘casino quality’ PVC that has all the properties we want for our deck.

The Air Deck is incredibly resistant to tearing and bending, and is 100% waterproof. You can play with these in the pool, in the boat, in the tub, in the rain, at the beach, pretty much wherever you can think of.

In the process of selecting the material we sought advice from several playing card professionals, to help us find the optimal material and design. The end result is a deck that shuffles and handles like you expect professional cards to do. The cards are slightly textured on on both sides to provide excellent handling.

The "Lady of Justice" is represented as blindfolded, because she will not judge by appearances. The scale represents equality, perfect balance. The sword, on the other hand, is used to administer justice. She holds higher the scale, in this Justice deck, to emphasize this aspect of her jurisdiction.

When Thirdway Industries produces a limited deck there is usually some overproduction (2-300 extra decks usually) that are wrapped without the seal. These are occasionally sold as part of bundles, on special occasions like Black Friday, or upon request for a reduced price. Lunatica is a new series of playing cards by Thirdway Industries, designed by the Italian designer Giovanni Meroni and printed by USPCC. Tank Masters playing cards is the original deck created by Sviatoslav Pashchuk. It illustrates the bravest men and women, who fought in tank divisions during World War II. Cards depict not only people, but also the most popular tanks from that period.

In this project there are two types of decks: the Liberators Deck and the Invaders Deck.

These 2 decks represent 8 different countries that took part in World War II. The countries are divided into Invaders and Liberators according to the powers they belonged to, namely Axis and Allied powers. The only exception is USSR, which was included into the Invaders deck, as it was the aggressor in World War II towards Poland.

Historic state flags of 1940-1945 were used for Aces, Kings, Queens and Jacks. They show the belonging of the hero or a tank to a particular country.

Both boxes are made in a style that resembles dashboards in tanks during the Second World War. I tried to recreate the kind of heavy equipment control panel with buttons and metal shields. The design represents decorative elements of oak leaves and bay leaves, as well as symbols worn on military forms of that period. On the back of the boxes there is a list of countries represented in each deck, as well as the Latin idiom.
