There are endless myths and tales of those times, which allow us to travel through fantasy, to the times of early European civilizations and the common origin of these myths. The Dausos project is more than just drawing colored cards, the artist's purpose was to restore the pantheon of the Baltic gods as a logical and coherent system. DAUSOS is a mythological themed set of two decks that have matching back, but different face cards.

Papercut

Lydia Shirreff // 2020

A very limited first edition release of Papercut Playing Cards, created by paper artist Lydia Shirreff. Showcasing 54 unique designs, originally handcut from paper. Printed onto quality poker-size cards, packaged in a special presentation box with letterpress sleeve. This product has been designed with sustainability in mind. The box is constructed from 100% recycled card and paper made from recycled coffee cups. The playing cards themselves are made from FSC certified materials from sustainable forestry. All products are sent in 100% recyclable packaging. Lydia creates unique and diverse paper sculptures for set design, installations, advertising and fashion commissions. She is represented in Asia by A-GENT Tokyo, and worldwide by The Different Folk.

The Odd Fellows - El Sapo Cubano

Portfolio52 // 2022

Portfolio52 proudly presents a series of custom poker size decks of playing cards designed with a touch of oddity by Stockholm17. The Odd Fellows are a care-free crew, unbothered by the norms of "functioning members of society". Come aboard and meet a couple of supremely odd characters, each with their own blend of cards and art packaged in personality that's almost too much for your eyes to handle. This project is the first official P52-branded project created as an ode to our love of playing cards. Join our crew in a celebration of the odd and reckless.

El Sapo Cubano features pearlescent bronze and lime green and white foiling across the barrel embossed case. 17 marks scratch across the top signifying the date of the launch and the number of Stockholm17. On the face of the deck is El Sapo himself with a custom diecut around his mouth to show the display card below with the edition # of the deck out of 888. This display card is a custom letterpressed card that is also signed by the artist.

El Sapo Cubano was a limited edition deck run out of 888 launched as a special release in the last 48 hours of the 2021 P52 campaign.

The custom illustrated court cards feature a wildly intoxicated bunch with custom illustrations for each individual pip. The back designs are also 100% custom to each deck in the Odd Fellows series while still maintaining a cohesive design to maintain integrity throughout.

Each suit represents a different pantheon and includes symbols any iconic elements from each. This custom deck of playing cards was illustrated by Gustavo Borboa and printed in the USA by the United States Playing Card Company (USPCC) under the Bicycle® brand with a Linen Air Cushion Finish.
