ABOUT THIS DECK
Hong Kong-based designer Mijiko‘s passion for playing cards sparked when her very first playing cards project, MEDCHA Playing Cards – a deck about tea and meditation, was a success. Then, it is followed by Sushi Cats Playing Cards – a deck about sushi and cute cats. Now, she comes back with another exciting and adorable project, Onsen Neko Playing Cards, a decksabout Japanese hot springs and cute cats.
The Onsen Neko tuck box features a vibrant red and gold foiled box, inspired by favorite animation film “Spirited Away”. The front side features a grand Japanese red building with the title of the deck. The back side features a group of cute cats enjoying their baths. The box has an interior artwork of UKIYOE wave pattern done in gold foil.
Indulge in this fully custom shiny foiled new deck, which illustrates a grand ‘Onsen-palace’ where many cutie Neko deities enjoy their hot spring! Spill with red and gold foil, the deck is topped with a red ripple gilded on the sides - what an entrance to welcome the Lucky Meow Gods!
In Japanese folklore, cats have protective powers and symbolise good fortune. Where-ever you see cat that’s a good ground you are standing! These court cards are illustrated in very cute cat deities of Japan. The Seven Gods of Luck - SHICHIFUKUJIN 七福神, Izanagi & Izanami, and other Gods. They don’t only bring you luck; each card tells you the health benefits of taking an Onsen bath! Cute on face & warm in heart!
