Dystopia Playing Cards are a disturbed tribute to Australian filmmaking legend George Miller and his apocalyptic masterpiece Mad Max: Fury Road. Featuring insane artwork by our in-house artist Pedro Oyarbide, each court card has its own distinct, unhinged personality. Dystopia is 100% bespoke and is hand illustrated from scratch. Riffle through the cards and witness society break down into a harrowing nightmare. The ace of spades is bold and mighty! Much like the rumbling V8 engines it features. The back design issues a stark message “Good Luck. Good Bye”, as the pillars of society crumble into a gasoline fuelled tribal apocalypse. This cult classic is a coveted collector’s item and a Limited Edition. It’s tuck box is expertly crafted in the United States and is our most ornate and complicated box to produce. It features 3 foils on the exterior of the box, 2 foils on the interior, and heavy embossing and debossing techniques across the surface of the box. The texture is truly extraordinary.

Dystopia: Interceptor Special Edition is a unique alternative tuck and gilded version of the original Dystopia playing cards. Featuring a monochromatic satin silver tuck box complete with heavy embossing and flame orange foil seal. This tuck box is a tribute to George Miller's Mad Max: Fury Road. The director released a special edition black and white cut of the film, and our silver monochrome tuck box pays homage to this version of the movie. Housed inside the box is a gold gilded deck of Dystopia Playing Cards.

The end of the world. The Dystopian Deck started as a question: what would magic, cardistry and playing cards look like at the end of the world? Then I realized: perhaps Dystopia is not the future. Perhaps it is now. As well as the images of oppression, I also wanted to capture the raw sense of rebellion and uprising through the smog of this bleak society the deck comes from. This is a deck from a world, where freedom is frowned upon, the people are being silenced and stripped of the necessity for free speech, free lives and happiness. The court cards are the leaders of the deck, and in this post-pandemic scenario, the leaders are either blinded or unable to speak out. A deck by Cavan Booth.
