ABOUT THIS DECK
While on a Japanese trip of trying out all of the hot springs there, Bi of PinLuck Butter shares the idea of V2 of Onsen Neko Playing Cards to Michiko. Michiko agrees to do it, and it gives the creation to the MINI version of the deck - Onsen Neko Pocket Waterproof.
As the deck's name suggests, the deck shares the cute illustrations of cats and hot springs from the main poker-sized playing cards, turned small into a deck which you can carry everywhere around. Plus, the cards and the tuck box are made of plastic, hence it is WATERPROOF! - you can simply play with the cards while you are having a relaxing bath~
The plastic tuck box features new ukiyo-e illustration: water waves with surfing white cats that creates the beautiful background for the deck's title card, which some of them are holographic foiled. The cards feature featuriful light blue holographic foil: can be found on the water ripples pattern on the back along with all the pips and small signs and letter As on the faces.
Majority of the artworks featured on this Mini deck shares the same illustrations as the main deck, with some modifications to adapt the small size of the deck:
- The back design features one-way back design, showing the cute cat with the shiba dog bathing together.
- The background of the faces feature water ripples. Since all of the suits are in the same blue holographic foil, the difference between the suits are the colors of the water: like how there are different types of onsens in Japan.
- The Number Cards feature bold numbers (bold letters for Aces) instead of the number of cats that replaces pips. Each number has a different cat, with the signifying number of their back. For Aces, the letter A is in blue holographic foil!
