Who Art in Heaven is a limited-edition, full-bleed, deck of art poker playing cards. Inspired by medieval astrology such as their understanding of the seven classical planets (luminaries): the Sun, the Moon, Venus, Jupiter, Mars, Mercury and Saturn. It tells the story of a young scribe who is questioning a cleric on the cosmos. I would be over the moon if, with your help, we could bring these art pieces to life.
The narrative artwork is the next window into my whimsical world of English Coney rabbits. The Coney live in deep, steamy warrens, spending their cycles solemnly preaching on Lord Heswe of the Meadows. Our story follows a young wistful scribe, trying to distract his strict cleric with ponderings and youthful imaginings of their scripture and what the heavenly cosmos truly is. As such, invisible UV ink is perfect to depict the scribes playful musings, hidden in the dark.
The hidden UV was designed in collaboration with my 5-year-old Arthur and a select group of fantastic children to truly capture a youth's imaginings of the stars. The aces puzzle together to reveal the black hole in space and knowledge, and from which all our scribe's fancies and fantasies explode.
The pip cards are also fully custom, following my innovative fan concept from Sensu. Each set of four numbers reveal one scene behind the tilted pips, and turn them around to see that each suit run reveals another scene - both in daylight, and hidden in the dark.
The Tuck box is a full wrap-around image star-gazing into the heavens. Printed with radiant, glitter foiling and covered with hidden activity using invisible ink.
