Limited Edition (25) Box and display easel with Imaginary Friends and Fiends playing card deck. Wooden hinged box with clasp closure. Laser cut wood veneer portraits of Imaginary Friend (cherry wood veneer) and Imaginary Fiend (mahogany wood veneer) displayed on opposite sides. Wooden box has black felt insets for the card deck. Edition number included on the side of the box and signed by the artist. Funded as a Kickstarter project on July 22, 2014 with $53,355 pledged from 756 backers, this was ultimately a set of 6 decks, some with custom cards and some tuck swaps, plus uncut sheets and varied non-deck add ons. Using the 1920s-30s mobster era as inspiration, this USPCC deck series consists of the Gold and Silver decks, later followed by limited edition Cotton Club and Stork Club decks (1,500 each) which were tuck swaps and finally the limited editions of Empire and Kingpin (1,250 each) which were fully different decks (face cards, backs and tuck). While the decks were designed, submitted and copyright 2014 they were not printed or delivered until early 2015. This PCDB Entry is for the 1,500 limited edition Bicycle branded Cotton Club deck. They featured the same cards as the standard gold/silver decks, but were in a different tuckbox (tuck swap) and also came with a similar themed coin which were also numbered and signed.
