ELEMENTIA

The Elementia Deck draws inspiration from the enlightenment which brought on a scientific revolution. Alchemy was transformed from a mystical art into chemistry, an empirical science. This deck represents that transition of old to new, traditional to modern throughout its design. Elementia is drawn Elementia Chemiae, a book from 1732 regonised as the first chemistry text ever written and represents the transition from alchemy to chemistry. Hidden within this deck is the history of chemistry, from its infancy as alchemical science through to the discoveries which are being made today. This deck celebrates the discoveries in natural science within the design, from nuclear radiation to penicillin.
